Company Description

Bring It Home, INC., based in Northwest Arkansas, focuses on delivering affordable housing solutions by partnering with both non-profit and for-profit developers. As a growing organization, Bring It Home has developed its own communities as a non-profit development company. To date, the organization has successfully created 2,046 housing units across six states, including 716 supportive units.

Organization: Bring It Home Inc

Location: Hybrid/Remote (Student must be located within Northwest Arkansas with the ability to occasionally travel to local events)

Duration: Spring 2026 Semester (Feb 1st-May 1st)

Hours: 10 hours per week (Depending on program- this may be adjusted to meet course credit requirements)

Compensation: $1,000 stipend + class credit (if applicable)

Internship Role Overview

This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of affordable housing, nonprofit operations, and community development. The intern will play an important role in strengthening the foundation of Bring It Home’s work through promoting the organization on social media platforms and at events. This role will receive 1 on 1 mentorship with the Programs and Operations manager, who will work with the intern to develop a variety of professional skills and industry connections. Clear deliverables and goals will be outlined at the beginning of the internship.

Key Responsibilities and Project Outcomes

Community Outreach & Education:

  • Assist with events, presentations, and communications to support community engagement efforts

  • Create a content schedule and content creation for Tik Tok, Instagram, and LinkedIn to engage NWA residents with our work in the community and garner support and awareness of our organization. Content includes short-form video, graphic creation and other digital media

  • An end of internship presentation to the Bring it Home executive staff showcasing the impact of work will serve as a portfolio of work completed to be utilized in future job searches

Other opportunities:

  • Programs & Operations Shadowing: Work directly with the Programs & Operations Manager to learn day-to-day nonprofit operations and project management and assist with organizational capacity building

  • Meeting Participation: Attend and contribute to meetings with housing development partners, stakeholders, and community members

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience creating content on social media platforms

  • Interest in housing policy, construction and development, community planning, or nonprofit management

  • Strong organizational, communication, and research skills

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a start-up, entrepreneurial environment

  • Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Squarespace, and other website and editing software

No specific educational major is required, but this internship may be especially relevant for students in:

  • Marketing and Communications

  • Public Relations and Journalism

  • Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or Civil/Construction Engineering

  • Business, Political Science, or Public Policy

  • Event Planning, Nonprofit or Social Studies, or related fields

Requirements:

  • Based in Northwest Arkansas

  • Reliable access to transportation

  • Reliable access to internet/computer

  • Undergraduate student with the ability to obtain class credit. To receive 1-3 hours of credit for an internship, please check with your college’s office on how to enroll and get this internship approved.
